I JUST SAW THEM IN TORONTO! IT WAS WILD!!!! I wanted to destryo some of the fans for there violent shove behavior, but other than that it was fantastic. I doubt anyone could have gotten a decent picture and or video. The band killed it that night, and her voice is in tip top shape!!!! Way better than I could have ever imagined. I feel like a new person. In awe.
Now I'm really excited...
Looks mind-blowing.
Wait... I commented on the Ottawa Bluesfest section and it got moved here. This show looks really awesome too! I almost went to Toronto to see it. Has anyone met the band and/or Courtney recently? Because I'd LOVE TO. I might get a chance to on Friday, that's when I'm going.
I saw this show too!!! So awesome! Courtney demanded bras be thrown on stage - 10 before she'd start taking requests... She had a big whack of them hanging off of her mic stand. She also had Micko strip his shirt off and put on a bra too... She was lots of fun, with great stage presence... the only shitty part was that there was hardly any merch (or sizes) and no cameras -- But other than that their performance was flawless.
This was by far the best show I have ever been to! Courtney is so inspiring and moving. The stuff from her new album sounded amazing as well as the old stuff we all love. The covers were brilliantly done and original. The band was inpecable. This is more than just rock its was brilliant preformance ART!!
I LOVED IT. IT MADE ME CRY, which I have never done at any concert. Very moving and insiring!
NOTE: Crazy violent audience. atleast if you were anywhere near the stage. People were not moshing they were punching, elbowing and clawing there way trough a sea of very smooshed people. Some people just really wanted to hurt poeple. A little more painful and distracting than I anticipated.
It was transcending!!!! The band was tight and polished - they sounded great!! Courtney was in a good mood and engaged the audience. My only compliant: we waited sooooo long for Hole to arrive on stage. It is true the audience did get rough and I had to move all the way to the back to get some air and be safe. Otherwise it was a terrific show
Woo I found this page because my video is linked... Anyways I had a great time!
Courtney Love: Nobody's Daughter
Live in Toronto (Sound Academy), Summer 2010
Like any 90s child, I was raised with grunge, so I can't help but feel nostalgic when I hear said music from my youth. But in sincerity, I didn't fully appreciate Courtney Love the icon, Courtney Love the legend, Courtney Love the fuck-up, or Courtney Love the MUSICIAN, until I lost the man that I once believed was the love of my life... until I lost my very own "Kurt".
Say what you will about Ms. Love, but hear me on this - all of you listen hard and all of you listen good - she KNOWS love, she KNOWS hate, she definitely KNOWS pain and most certainly is WELL-ACQUAINTED with sorrow. Her desperation - her songwriting - speaks to people because it's her guts in all their glory live on the floor AND in your face.
While HER truth may tinker on the darker side of human emotion - a truth we often try to shelter ourselves from, a truth we often try to deny - it is REAL, and it is UNIVERSAL. Never forget that. Courtney - long may you rock!
