In an explosive interview, even by her own uninhibited standards, with Hot Press, controversial rock star and actress Courtney Love has spoken about her past lovers Gavin Rossdale, Billy Corgan and Edward Norton, as well as her relationship with supermodel Kate Moss and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. Love also talks about her time working for Hot Press as a photographer in the early 80's.
Love, whose band Hole have just released a new album, Nobody’s Daughter, says that she hasn’t spoken to Gavin Rossdale (former lead singer with the rock band Bush and now Gwen Stefani’s husband) recently. “Me and Gavin dated for eight months,” she states. “There was some overlap between when I dated Edward [Norton] and he dated Gwen – but never when they were engaged. So we were like sorta fuck buddies. He was playing the field... one night Gavin made roast chicken and it was really, really good, and then we snogged and he was really good at it. And he’d improved vastly from the last time we snogged.”
Love had recently hinted at having a lesbian fling with a supermodel. For the first time she reveals to Hot Press, "It was Kate Moss. She doesn’t care.” Love then adds, “It’s a great story for the grandchildren so... yeah. Kate wasn’t doing a lot of drugs. It was just a thing that happened in Milan in the ‘90s. It happened and it was fun and whatever. And she talks about it and so I hope she doesn’t get mad that I outed her about it... I feel like such a kiss and tell... Kate’s great, though! Kate’s a good friend of mine. I almost bought Kate’s house in St. John’s Wood (London).”
Love also talks about her affection for U2 and their friends. She tells Hot Press: “I do love Bono, and I love the boys – I love all of them. I love Edge’s brother, Dick – he’s so smart, do you know him? Such a guy. Oh my god! That night we did the Gavin Friday [50th birthday party at Carnegie Hall] thing? And Bono was always telling me for years and years and years that I should meet Gavin. And I was always afraid to, because Gavin, to be honest, really intimidated me more than any of them. And then when we played with them, of course... it was fuckin’ brilliant.”
In a courageous, revealing and touching interview with Olaf Tyaransen, Love also talks extensively about "The Bono Talk", Billy Corgan, Edward Norton, when Hugo Chavez thought she was a hooker and the photos she took for Hot Press!

I really dont care who she fucks/has fucked. Its a bit ridiculous to keep constantly hearing about it. Hello? new album? tour? FFS. And we wonder why women arent taken seriously in music.... weeeellll....
i'm not trying to be a jerk but i think her name-dropping is sad and a sign of desperation. if the album was #1 and better rec'd critically she wouldn't be saying this stuff in my opinion.

i don't care what she says. She has always been totally real and honest, more than any other famous person. Some people do sell more cause people are fascinated with the person and if they do different things. So i am not bothered. It's pretty hot she got with Kate Moss.

her pathetic media ploys basically does nothing to gain respect for her as an artist... pj harvey,a fuckin genius,critically acclaimed and yet we never hear about her personal life... you earn respect and saying things like 'what a great fuck i am' look who i fucked etc. does nothing for her credibility. its a shame that for 15 years i was a hug fan,totallty disapointed.

Even Ms. Love herself would admit the name dropping is pathetic, but she cannot help it. She has always dropped names. She cannot filter herself and loves celebrities, so it's to be expected. Also, I think she thinks it makes her seem cool, as in 'look at all the cool people I know'. If only Courtney would relaize she is more interesting than most of the people she name drops.
Court is just one of those excellent ADHD people who can't censor themselves no matter what. Her interviews for these publications can sometimes be upwards of 5 hours of her just talking and talking and talking covering every topic that passes through her head. She appears to have a brain that works about 5 times faster than most people and it holds tons of information. Most of these interviews she talks mostly about her own music but all the extra add on parts of her stories are what end up being printed
um sorry but SHE is most likely to be bipolar with borderline personality disorder rather than adhd......but obviously,because of the stigma with mental health,ADHD sounds so much better right?

sooo, anonymous, are you a clinician who's made these diagnoses??? She's actually said herself that she has ADHD and she takes meds for it. I've worked with people who have ADHD for years now, in addition to people with Bipolar Disorder and people with different personality disorders and I see the signs of ADHD in her. Couldnt comment on PD or Bipolar without assessment.

I'm kind of disappointed to her now changed opinion of Edward Norton. Plus in the Jeff Buckley biography, it has a very different story to tell about the time Jeff and her went out (by the way I think he was already married at the time so I don't get the story about Auf der Maur). And now Billy is a paedophile? Hmmmm.

Gutless, Court always talks about music, non stop, her's, the music she loves, the music she hates, what she has done in music, what she wants to do. These do not always make good stories but all the extra stream of info that fall from her lips amoungst this are what usually gets printed. This is nothing new. Court has been doing this since day 1. I don't know why anyone is suprised. The press works one way only and that is to cut and paste till you get the stroy you want. If you have read any feature interview written about Court in last 20 years (not a publication that had a 5min phone call) they all begin with a similar theme - an explanation of "I was expecting her to be very difficult" or "expecting the notouriously difficult Love but what I found was", "the interview went right thru the night till early hours of the morning and covered every topic imaginable". They all start with a variation of this and the printed interview often only prints the salacious moments. Thats just the world we live in. I would much rather read any Courtney interview with excerts of her halarious stories than any other crap interview with other music industry people who all have pre approved questions so their people can tell them what they can say and what not. At least when you get a courtney interview it is mostly her honest opinion and highly entertaining. If it is not, then why do all the same people read and comment on every interview posted on this site? For you fans out there who have known Court personaly or met her, you know what I am talking about reguarding her uncontrollable honesty. Peace.

She contradicts herself in every interview. Look, either she's a liar or she's insane. Take your pick. But whatever you do, don't fall for her games.On Stern she says she's had one "lesbian experience" with a model, while a few weeks earlier she told us about her 3-way with Corgan and a female stylist. Now she insists she didn't sleep with Moss. And what's this? She claims she's only slept with one married man? LOL Yeah ok, Court. C'mon, we all know that's not true.

Come to think of it, if it's all about the music, why does Courtney give interviews about everything except the music? Why the name-dropping and lesbian outing? Hardy - Read properly first. I asked if you are into the music / enjoy etc, if yes why does all the insignificant things an artist say become so important to you. I am amazed at how people pull apart evey mineute comment Courtney makes. As you would be aware in promo time these artists get interviewd in mass blocks same questions over and over, all you do is talk. Mostly they are then edited down, mis quoted and so on, till you have a couple pages of print mostly out of context. But it looks like now Courtney may as well get a press agent, have pre approved questions and pre design her answers or some person on some fan site some place in the world may put a microscope on everything she says with there obsessed love / hate attraction they have. She may as well become Madonna. Could you imagine? Court is known to exagerate, change history to suit, has never let the complete truth stand in the way of a good story, but that is what makes it so readable and funny. She knows. She knows we know. The joke is on the writer / the publication and the charater in her stories (wheather they are Kate moss, Corgan whoever). Court loves the idea of creating parts of her own myth. This is the Court that I have always loved and enjoy reading something that is not the same old regugitated crap that other artists press agents write for them (with checks by legal department just in case). And yes I love the music, have since the start (when I first bought retard girl single) , read the atricles and often laugh my ass off at the name dropping, 1000's subject changes from 1 question, her opinions, wars and so on. Just don't feel the need to over analyse everything she says. just enjoy. If anytime I stop enjoying the music, and her halarious rants then i will respect and enjoy the things I used to love of Court / Hole and simply stop reading and listening. She's not a name dropper. It's the way she talks. She's extremely smart, and knows the business and its players well at this point. When she had the amazingly sold Live Through This era in her hands, she was still talking like this. It's Courtney. I mean, even if you look at her interview with Stevie Nicks--she's talking to fucking Stevie Nicks, and she still talks that way.
