Pics are great but I read a review of this show - was any of you guys there?  What happened? Sounded terrible....

There was nothing "cool" about this show. She showed up a little over an hour late clearly drunk. She couldn't remember chords, lyrics, song titles. She barely song instead turned the mic around to the crowd for help. Her voice was shot. People started leaving after the first "song". By the time we left well before the first encore the place was less than 3/4 full. I waited 15 years for this concert and I was beyond dissapointed. She is clearly not sober anymore nor did she care that she could barely keep any song together without it falling apart. These tickets cost $45! And don't get me started on the assistant she had standing on stage to film her with an iphone - during the entire show. Right in front of her. Read the review I included. It is dead on. She lost many a fan last night.

The band was PISSED OFF. The bass player was out in the crowd, after he walked off stage. He came and sat down by me and my friends in the lounge and said he was selling his Apple stock, and acted like he was just ready to quit.Honestly, I wouldn't blame him. This wasn't just a bad show, she was totally inconsiderate to her fans, her band and the opening act (whom she never even thanked). We had to stand and wait forever, to watch her perform for some fat chick holding an iPhone. She could have cared less that we were even there. It looks to me that she is back on the junk. She didn't make it through one song without forgetting lyrics or totally screwing up. She owes every single person there a refund or a return trip where she plays music. She wants to know why people don't take her seriously as a musician, well?

Wow what bad reviews compared to the show on the Twenty Third. I thought she was still sober. She talked a lot but when doesn't she? The rest of the band had nothing bad to say.......hmmmm

That is a huge difference from the show in Norfolk on Saturday. She rocked the house - even had great reviews. Very surprising.

Hmm thanks guys for your feedback.  Not sure what to make of this.  I can see why the band would be pissed by this. It's so sad if she's lapsed/relapsed, I really hope not.  She's obviously had a lot of stress lately judging by the twitters she's been posting, it could be the effects of that, maybe tiredness & not drugs.  Yeah, such a difference to the obviously kicking shows she's played in the run up to this show.  I'm quite a hardcore fan but I would have been disappointed by this and I can see why other fans were (but I wouldn't have verbally abused her like some apparently did).  I'm interested to read what other guys think of this.

Well there is the video that her friend Lisa was taking all night with the IPhone. I wonder what they are gonna dow with that footage.

I saw Hole in 1999 and at the 9:30 Club last night. She was a hot mess, but as I left the club when the show ended at 1am, I found myself wondering if I just watched the worst show ever, or was it the best show? She forgot a lot of the words, but I never imagined to hear that many songs (even if the crowd sang most of the time!) It was an amazing time and it seemed like the crowd had a special relationship with her. She said she was hanging out with her Senator friend which is why she was late..my guess is that they had several drinks before she came on stage. I thought she got better as the night went on (perhaps sobering up?). Awful, Never go Hungry, Doll Parts and Someone Elses Bed sounded great! Other songs didn't sound the best as the band didn't know how to play them so it was just her and the crowd. Overall, it wasn't quite what I expected (bc I thought she would be sober) but its Courtney Love, so did I really expect a 'normal' show? Absolutely not and I got anything but a normal show.

Also, she played an amazing setlist.  Hearing that many songs live was a dream come true. She asked the crowd what songs they wanted to hear from Live Through This and referred to America's Sweetheart as "the disaster". She asked what her fans thought was the worst song she ever wrote, she said Zeppelin song. She even played a bside of Rock Star..singing "How would you like to be Madonna? Say you'd rather die....How would you like to be Nirvana?"  That was perhaps the most shocking song to hear live as I bought that song on a Hole mix from ebay about 10 years ago....that was awesome.

I thought it was an amazing show. I really don't think Courtney was drunk. She was not slurring her words. I have been drunk many times and I think I know how drunk people act! She certainly did not look like she was about to keel over and die! I just thought she was in a weird mood and wanted to do a relaxed show. Her voice was great at the beginning but declined as the show went on.She only forgot the words on songs that she hasn't normally been singing on this tour. She remembered the words fine on the songs that are normally in her set list. To me, the talking in between songs and the choatic nature of the show is the way Courtney is supposed to be! I certainly preferred it to the dead show in NYC that I saw.A lot of people did leave before the end of the show, but not all of them because they hated it or thought it was awful. A lot of people left including one of my friends because they wanted to catch the last metro which leaves around midnight to get home to Maryland or Virginia, not because they hated the show. People did not leave after one song. They only left when it started to get really late to get the metro or just because they had to go to work early in the morning.It was kind of crazy, but It was one of the most fun nights of my life!

Does anyone here have,or know of anyone who has audio recordings of any of these shows?I would love to get my hands on a few.

Don't be fooled by the setlist. Car Crash wasn't the Car Crash that we have all heard, it was an unholy bastardized version of it. Not the right lyrics, not the right chords. Jennifer's Body wasn't Jennifer's Body, it was her asking the fans to help with lyrics, there was no bass or no drums on many of the obscure or older songs, which is why the band got upset. They were just standing around while she effed off. It all went downhill after that. She couldn't remember the lyrics to Samantha, I mean...come on. She couldn't even remember the names of songs off Live Through This. The entire band was down by the bar SEETHING mad during the end. They walked off stage because she was just goofing off and sounded HEINOUS. By the time she got to the end and was trying to play music her voice was shot. She played Awful and it was indeed Awful.I felt really bad for the teenage girls there to see her for the first time. At least I got to see her on the Celebrity Skin tour, and it was phenomenal. This was a trainwreck, and unending three hour long train wreck.The only songs she half-way nailed were Violet, Miss World, Celebrity Skin, PCH and Doll Parts. Which, I mean was satisfying to hear, but I wanted more. I think it was telling that the place had almost completely emptied out by the time she got to her final song, which was Northern Star - again, really rough sounding because she had no voice by then.A lot of people left that concert really disappointed in her. This is when she should be proving herself as a viable musician, not chasing away loyal fans that stood and waited to watch her perform for an iPhone.

i will be sad if she is back on drugs after she got a second chance at her career it will only kill her and her career too. courtney, if it is true check urself into rehab and get clean...i dont even know what to say after being afan for years i just feel like we're loosing hope. but i can say that the new album wasnt a mistake. she still rocks. im just loosing patience with her

as i was watching this show last night, that i also waited 15 years for, i couldn't figure out if it was one of the best shows i've seen or worst. there were some tense moments. for instance, my partner kept screaming about her videographer (sorry folks, he's a terribleheckler, and i hate it. he once made cat power cry and leave the stage) and was promptly almost kicked out by security. he got back in because he had a very valid point. WE COULDN'T FUCKING SEE HER. NOT COOL. however, i tried to sit back and enjoy the courtney ride. i liked the fact that she talked a lot, whether this was because of drunkenness/chemical use or sheer exhaustion, it was enjoyable and comfortable.however, it did start to wear on me how much she forgot all the lyrics and riffs. i began to wonder what the hell was going on and if the rest of the shows on the tour ave been this bizarre. i came there to hear HER sing not the tons of off key fans who think they can sing. you can't. (also, girls who were in front of me for awhile, you are annoying acting out all the songs in interpretive dance.)so the show went on and on and we got a lot of songs, but the thing that many people on here don't understand who are saying they would just die to be there is that she forgot most of the lyrics or severely fucked the songs up. the songs she wrote. she wouldn't or couldn't sing them. she gave us the responsibility of performing her show for her. how lazy. how insulting and that moment where she just let out with this racist blast was just straight up fucked. i turned to the black girl beside me and said, don't you feel insulted??? and she gave me the forefinger and thumb sign for a little bit. it was also disappointing that she did so little of the new material and so many covers. i came there to hear nobodys daughter, the song and the record and didn't get song (which i think is artistically very strong and possibly one of the best she's ever written) and very little of the record. i didn't want to be at a show where she was going to just play standards like doll parts (OVER IT) and miss world. it was like hole kareoke. i felt like the fact that she wasn't performing much of the new material meant that she wasn't fully behind it, was unsure about this record that she made that isn't fabulous, but does have a lot of power and a lot to offer. i am a diehard courtney fan but i am really sick of her name dropping bullshit. i don't care who's there to fuck her or who her famous friends are. i wanted to hear the music. i also felt the whole, forgot my bra thing was so obviously contrived. yeah right. i adore her and want people to take her seriously but she is truly her own worst enemy!her band was quite obviously pissed. and i would have been too if i were them. her drummer looked like he wanted to quit there on the spot. the good points though were when she actually could hold a song together and bring the power,  like when she was obviously crying on honey and a few of the LTT songs. ultimately i left still a diehard fan, and felt like i got a special show, but confused and sad for her. please don't interpret this as me bashing her. i am totally supportive of what she does and generally don't care about all the tabloidy shit, but i just wanted her to be fully THERE and she wasn't.

i drove six hours to see hole and the first couple of songs i was like "ohhh shit", she was clearly drunk, i wouldnt say she was using just boozing, and shes said befor she never had a problem with alcohol. after the first hour she started sober up and it turned into a night that i will remember forever....... in a good way.

Finally Car Crash!!! I knew the positive feedback for that song would caught on eventually.

Zach yes of course it's not good if she verbally abused audience members, but if you dont mind me saying it's also rude to make comments about someone's body shape.  I'd have been annoyed by having someone on stage trying to film the whole show on an IPhone but it's obviously what Courtney asked for, annoying as I bet it was.

NotCourtneyLove, have to agree with you totally.  She is her own worst enemy sometimes and I would have felt disappointed to put it diplomatically by the name-dropping, turning up late, etc in addition to the iphone recording like we've said.  I am a hardcore fan but like we said at the time of the 'is it isn't it' run up to Nobody's Daughter release it is fucking frustrating sometimes to be her fans!!!  I'd have been disappointed by the lack ND songs and Nobody's Daughter and Samantha are two of her most powerful songs.  Feeling confused and sad are good observations and I would have felt like that.  Let's hope that she gets past this bad experience, which I think it was and her & the band can pull together & that the band are still behind her.Ha ha your partner needs his hands slapping for making Cat Power cry & run off stage!!!! LOL!

The IPhone thing! Oh my god....I thought the article was exaggerating then I saw the photo..then the footage. Whatttttttttttttttttttt. I'm embarrassed for Lisa and Courtney, it makes them both look like total idiots. I'm guessing it's because they want to use some footage for a clip or something (although, I seriously doubt IPhone footage would cut it in terms of image quality that could be made into a clip right? ) but that doesn't make it acceptable for how she was just ALL OVER HER. I'm really disappointed because I was back on her side after seeing the Behind the Music special. But, no one plays a 3 and a half hour set when they've forgotten most of the songs and the band has walked offstage unless they are on something. It's a sad day when a for-hire session band given an opportunity of a lifetime gets so fed up they leave the stage..that's pretty rare.

Also, she tends to expose herself when she's on something or drunk. Lately she's been super modest and classing it up until now.

I went the 23rd show. WHich was drop dead gorgeous. She was healthy and radiant.

And yet the "good" show at the NorVa has received 6 comments, while the "awful" show in D.C. has received....47 comments, so far. What does that tell ya?

I guess many of us are feeling quite sad & confused by this show (or what feedback's been  like for me cos I wasnt there).  Really hope she gets past it.

I was at the show Sunday night at 9:30 Club and honestly hadn't known what to expect, considering Courtney is Courtney. Overall, I wasn't too disappointed, aside from that stupid iPhone video crap going on the whole show. I guess "Best Trainwreck Ever" can sum it all up

to everyone calling it "cool" and "the best trainwreck gig" - do you not want her to be healthy, happy and in a cohesive band? You just want drugs and drama and ruin on stage? Plz grow up.

If you were there and didn't think she was drunk or high then youre as nuts as she is. The set list would have been legendary if she actually played those songs. We got snippets and no singing and wrong chords. It wasn't the epic night the set list would have you believe. People did lafter the first song. Several of my friends included. Get your head out of her ass and take the show for what it was. A drunken, fucked up mess. I believes she at least owes us a statement or even a tweet about it. "Yo, I was drunk, sorry". But we'll get nothing because I really do think she could give a shit about anyone us. PS - There will be new members of Hole before the year is out. I'm surprised the drummer didn't jump up from his kit and quit on the spot. The look on his face ALL NIGHT said it all.

(Sorry for the following description but I don't know how else to describe you: Asian kid with really kick-ass camera in light color button up shirt.)
