been waiting 1/2 my life for this, her music & lyrics have a devious, purging, intimate value that has always hit my heart.
Since I have never had the opportunity to see Ms. Love before, I was ROCKED hearing all my faves from live thru this (tho could have closed w/Olympia, woulda been GREAT!)
Rather surprised she only covered about 1/2 of Nobody's Daughter, neglecting the Title Song, For once in your life, & (so unfortunate!) Loser Dust.
Wish Court could have played that for me... Least got When Dirty Girls Get Clean (We are SO MEAN!)
She always has the perfect emotion, attitude & lyrics for the anthem[s] of my life. Wish Icould have heard these three most recent.
Ofcourse, I could/would have stayed & listened all night, under the stars, with her angels, her friends.

Yes, why there was never a video clip for this album at all? She said sha had the director a couple of times in the past, If this is it for this album, I will say no more Hole records could come out, this project can´t survive withput promotion or a little bit more of excitment.

Who watches videos anymore though? MTV and VH1 rarely play them. They have reality shows on most of the time. I used to live for videos of my favorite artist but now I rarely pay attention to a video or what's in it. It's a shame because MTV and the videos of Hole were a huge way that a lot of people became fans. Courtney's a very visual artist who loves fashion so videos are great for her. But videos seem to have lost all importance now. I don't know what the answer is. It just seems now the music business is stacked against older artists. Yes, people will come out to hear the older hits but it's so hard to get your new music promoted.

That's exactly what older artists are thinking right now, and why these people and companies are failing, people still watch and praise music videos, youtube has proven to be one of the most powerful tools to promote and share music, an artist can change and shift their ideas and concepts through videos and people ARE noticing and watching, just to give you an example, what would be of lady gaga without music videos? they are what kept her where she is, christina's not myself tonight video doomed her album and probably her career that proofs that videos are still a powerful tool in the music business, I know, I know, Courtney is a complete different type of artist, but still, videos set the tone for the album and help musicians to get press, videos are posted on twitter,blogs,tumblr,facebook, myspace and etc and you're forced to watch because of the visuals, whereas when you post a link to a song you can skip or not listen at all plus they can still play them on television, with that said you have to be original and you don't need lots of money contrary to popular belief, you only need a strong concept and maybe that's why older artists are scared to release them, because 20 years ago you had people who'd think and film videos for you,whereas today you have to be almost self sufficient, if courtney released at least one video she could set the tone of the record and get more press, not only that but her evolution as an artist would be documented and noticed by everybody, not only fans.
Youtube is a very powerful tool for brand new artists who are just starting out. Yes. Lady Gaga's videos really made people aware of her. But I really don't think youtube is that great for established artists. I don't see how Christina's video doomed her. In fact, she got a lot of attention for it and people watched it but her song and album still flopped. Christina's album flooped not because of the video but because everyone hated the songs and the album. It got some of the worst reviews of a new album I have ever seen. To me, Christina is a perfect example of what I was saying. Videos don't do that much for artists that have been around for awhile.
I agree about everything, she was on MTV all the time in the 90s. But I have never really liked her videos that much except for Doll Parts. Ironically her best video is Mono but times really have changed. I used to be crazy about MTV not I can't watch it anymore and I don't even care. Who wants to see those fucking reality shows or ringtone promotion?It's just a shame that Nobody's Daughter didn't sell better and that it got such bad reviews. Never understood that, it's so much better than her solo album which got good reviews. What's up next? No more concerts? No Australian tour?
I don't think that a video would have changed anything, I have the feeling that the press etc. has written her off. The album wasn't promoted and the webmaster could have made a better job. Her official site sucks big time!
I totally disagree. I think a really cool video for Skinny Little Bitch, Samantha or Pacifi Coast High Way, would it be a strong tool if they were released before the album came out, so people would have a visual perspective of the new Hole and not just guess how it look s like, I believe the album have really great tracks and a nice video is always a plus. Who knows what happend, but I cant explain how really small music projects have some really cool videos, even not popular artist in really small areas have videos for their music, so how come Hole din't get one or never afford one?? Some one have an answer?
Maybe if she would have included Car Crash and Sunset Marquis as well as Happy Ending Story , the album would have sold better

Totally agree with you. If it had more of those melodic pop/rock things, It would have had wider appeal and appealed to other types of radio besides rock radio. Also, the press would have respected her for trying to reinvent herself. Whereas people looked at ND as an outdated type of alternative rock/grunge album that was more of the same and stuck in the past.
I will never understand why she didn't put these songs on the album but Letter To God and For Once In your life instead!
I still think that Nobody's Daughter is a great album though it just could have been even better.
It's a great album,i saw her in Rome and it was pure rock 'n' roll show!

I have my doubts, too. A couple of months ago she wrote on Twitter that there'll be a video for PCH but it never happened. Btw, the Danish article is wonderful, the author is absolutely crazy about her, my Danish is good enough to understand that much
