First Hole show of my life and worth every fucking minute of the hour it took her to take the stage, Lol. She may have been late and her voice may have been a little worn out from touring, but she made up for it by being fun, flirty, and fabulous! I somehow made it from the back during Foxy Shazam to FRONT ROW, MOTHER FUCKING CENTER by the time Clove came out and I was simply starstruck. She was beautiful and larger than life! When Courtney said "there's just something about Southern men" while grabbing her tits, she was looking directly at me and/or the other cute dude behind me; I think he might have been gay too. If not, he was REALLY nice for letting me get kinda crazy and dance/grind my ass all over him during "Celebrity Skin"... Lol. BTW, if any of you guys from the cool kids table see this, find me on Facebook! You guys were all fucking awesome and I had a blast with all of you ("CKT" is what I later referred to the front of the stage as when finding my friends after the show). To Courtney Love and the lads in the band... Great show! Thanks for rocking hard for us last night. Ya'll made it a great experieice for me. Then again, from where I was standing ya'll could've sounded like shit and I would've loved every second. Being that close to Courtney was fucking intense for me. She's like my fucking hero and I'd never seen her live before. Last night was just fucking awesome... I was so drained after the show, when the guitarist from Hole asked me for a cigarette, I could barely speak. I wanted to tell him how much I like the new album, how great the show was, how sexy he was playing guitar with his shirt off, anything... But all I could manage was "Sure dude. They're menthals though..." Rock on, mother fuckers! Adam McWhorter
i met micko and invisible dave at the NJ show last week. i went to shake micko's hand and he grabbed me and gave me a huge hug... dave too. it was really nice and micko called my brother and i gorgeous. the band played awesome, courtney looked and sounded amazing. one bad show and everyone starts bitching...they cant all be good
You sound like new fans, are you ? So weird lol
no, i've been a fan of courtney/hole for over ten years now, thanks.
I think she really like this boots.Love Love <3
Oh DEAR GOD, cocainelipgloss boy, you are so lucky!!!
I waited too long and missed the VIP tickets, so I am going with a standard admission on 7/16. I hope I'm as lucky as you. I'll definitely arrive hours before the show, and sneak my way as close as possible to the band. Preferably during Foxy Shazam, lol, I Have no idea who they are... I have been a hardcore Courtney fan since I was 11 (almost 8 years ago). I would probably faint if Micko asked me for a cigarette.
I'm also a fan of his former band from the UK.How did you meet them, Anonymous?
I think I'm going to just stick around as long as possible after the show... Just for the hell of it.
I had standard tickets. The Tabernacle was a general admission show. By "slip past", I meant you guys (other Hole fans). Lol. Honestly, I don't know how I did it. Everyone was super nice about it though. There were only about 4 rows of people to make my way through when Foxy Shazam finished their set. I just finessed my way through while I had the chance. By the time Clove and Hole came out over an hour later, the pit was tightly packed. So that would be my advice. Get in while you can. Fill gaps everytime you see one. Lol. By the time that hour has passed, you'll find yourself where I was - though less surprised since I'm telling you now. Lol. If you've got assigned seating at your venue, that info does no good for you. I'm sorry. I'd been in the same boat if there were seat numbers and shit in Atlanta. Thank God there wasn't! I was so worn out after the show I didn't stick around long at all. The cigarette he saw me smoking was the one I lit when I walked outside! I just walked around to where there was a crowd of people waiting for Courtney and went down to the far end and there he was... I'm still kicking myself for not asking for a picture with him. My friend Jeremy took a picture of him, but not of me AND him... And he took one with a girl that was standing out there too. And let her have a sip of his beer. Lol. It was cool as fuck! If you wanna see Clove, you'll be waiting a LONG time from what I understand... If you wanna meet Micko and the rest of the band, chances are you will. I would've waited for Clove, but my friends were ready to go and I myself was drenched in sweat and satisfied with the amount of personal "moments" I seemed to be having with Clove during the show, I didn't need to meet her looking a hot goddamn mess! And simply would not have asked for a pic or anything where she would be close to me, I stank like sweat and beer and alchohal big time! Lol. Apparently people like to throw drinks at her, and when you're in the front row... Well, guess who MOST of those drinks empty out on? Lol. I had a fucking BLAST! I'm sure you will too. I have also been a fan since I was 11 (when "Celebrity Skin" came out). Enjoy the show emryscodeine. I'm Adam btw
So, so lucky! I'll take your advice, lol. I'll fill every gap when I have a chance. I don't have seats, I have a standing room ticket. I'll be prepared to smell like booze now.
I don't need to meet Courtney either, I've listened to her music and words so much that I feel almost like I know her! I was only 7 when Celebrity Skin came out, I wasn't a fan then, but I did know the verse "When I wake up in my makeup" LOL. Micko, on the other hand, I didn't care for until I really listened to his guitar playing. I'm a huuuge fan of all the old guitar greats, and his sound actually reminded me of Jimmy Page on "Stairway to Heaven" lol.
So, I have to try to meet him. "Far end"? Do mean, like at their tour bus or something? I'm Fawn! Yes, like a little deer or Bambi.
There were the most people by the bus... The band came out the back entrance, by the trucks and shit that carry the instuments and all. Just behind the tail end of the bus. That was case in Atlanta, I know every venue is a little different, but they have to come out the back door before they get to the bus, so that's where I would be. They had a little barracade up to keep fans back. I went to the end by the back door and that's where the band stayed for a good little while. I don't think anyone by the actual bus knew they were even over there, Lol. I don't know about Clove though. Micko got on the bus then I left.
their bus was parked right in front of the venue - micko literally just walked off the bus as we were approaching the door. there wasn't really a line, and no one really knew who he was. i did of course
There are a couple of errors I noticed in the setlist, after reviewing some vid clips my friend took from the balcony. That combined with my memory and a friend's copy of the actual paper set list brought me to this conclusion...
The show last night was absolutely amazing. It was well worth the long wait. I waited as long as I could after the show for Courtney to come out. Does anyone know if she came out to meet the fans that were waiting by the bus after the show?
As for the question of Courtney coming out backstage - she eventually did around 1am...soon after Micko and Stuart got on the bus. She VERY, VERY quickly signed around 20 - 30 autographs and I assume got on the bus with a bodyguard. Very sweet gesture for her to do.The show was amazing from the front row! Well worth the wait! This was my second time seeing Hole (first being Music Midtown in '99) and I must say that this was a far better experience. While I truly miss Patty & Eric & even Melissa - meeting the guys and hearing their perspectives and views on the road was a real treat after the show.Hope to see Hole in Atlanta again soon!
Yay! Videos... Keep em coming, guys
Ahh so he really did take his shirt off. YUM. (lol)
I've met Courtney, but not at a show, but meeting Micko seems fairly easy. I went to the NJ show and as we pulled up to the venue he was outside smoking a cigarette, i guess hardly anyone recognized him (although he was right outside the bus) because no one was stopping by him or anything.
Yes, Courtney came out about twenty minutes after Micko got on the bus. This was my fifth time seeing Courtney/hole live. My second time meeting her. I was fortunate enough to get her autograph again. GREAT SHOW!!!! Lipglossboy, I remember seeing you. You were at the front of the stage and to the left of Courtney LOL I was standing right in front of her microphone. There was only two people in front of me. As a matter of fact, her guitar pic bounced off my hand when i tried to catch it!! I hope she does another tour later on this year!
I have been a fan of Hole since 1994 and this was my first time seeing her/them live. It rocked...I was drenched in sweat from rockin' it out, thrashing my head, jumping, etc. Courtney laid it down; amazing.
I was the same way dude... I walked out of the venue and poured a bottle of water all over myself. It was GREAT! Lol...
