wow what a setlist! x
That's a great setlist! Glad to see Dirty Girls back on the list!
great setlist. I love all the new songs included. Look like a wonderful show.
Hey great to see Samantha on the list, wonder what it was like?!
Hope she enjoys a well-earned rest now until the Japan dates.
Saw them in chicago. She is fabulous. I'm very in to Micko but the other guys I just don't think they have any star quality. My favourite HOLE line up would be : COURTNEY, MELISSA, PATTY and MICKO! That would be super cool! I think Patty was the most well suited drummer for Courtney's music. It's a shame they don't play together anymore. I even heard thato once Cobain wanted her for Nirvana
I got a kiss and an autograph from Micko
Wow, patty in Nirvana, that'd have been excellent. I always preferred Chad Channing to Grohl.
This would have been one excellent show at the Vic with that set list
I was at BOTH Chicago shows, and after the first night I didn't think it could be topped, however Courtney really amazed me, and Hole's second show was even better than the first. I was in the front row both times, but was off to the side on the first night. I got there super early on Thursday and was front and center. Thank god because it was the best concert experience of my life. And I go to a lot of shows. Courtney was about an hour late, but it didnt matter - she more than made up for it. As you can see the setlist was AMAZING! Actually Courtney asked me 3 times throughout the show for requests. At one point she even got onto the speaker and leaned down to talk to me. She asked what I wanted to hear. I immediately said "Heaven Tonight" because I love that song, it has personal meaning to me, and because I knew she hadnt been playing it. She responded telling me that the band didn't know it, and asked me what else I wanted to hear. I said "Awful" and she reached her hand out and shook my hand and they played Awful, which was amazing!! Then later in the encore she pointed to me and said "what new song do you wanna hear?" I said Samantha and she explained how hard it was to sing and that she had done it last night. She also said "It isnt even a hit yet" and I said "its a hit to me" and she laughed and said "I'll do it for 10$" so I pulled my wallet out and she just shook her head no, and started playing Samantha again - asking everyone to help her sing the chorus. Then she turned to me again and asked me for another song and I screamed "Nobodys Daughter" to which she replied, "I love that song" and played it!! She also threw me her guitar pick, which I now framed along with my two tickets!! I was also lucky enough to hand her a thank you card I bought for her during the show! Long story short, Courtney was clean, sober, beautiful, and willing to please her fans. Everyone thought I must know her because she was giving me so much attention. I dont, I was merely singing along with every word and I guess caught her eye. I was in such a state of shock the whole night. I also have about 200 pictures I took and some videos too. One awesome one of Doll Parts where she points the mic to me and screams! It was the best night of my life. Hole is and always will be the best band ever. Courtney Love is the best, and she looks and sounds better than ever. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE
Very cool!
I agree she was amazing!! I LOVE that she was clean and sober...Courtney you are a ROCKSTAR!
Patty Schemel was one of the best grunge drummers, no doubt about it, her only rival was dave ghrol. we can see that stu - a decent drummer - is not close to the creative drumming power of patty.
Casey are one you lucky bitch! Court made your day.Courtney has always been a true support ,inspiration and pleasure giver to her fans. She is so kind and compassionate. I hate when people talk shit without knowing a thing about her. I agree about Patty Schemel's drumming, she was definitely feeling Courtney's lyrics and she's technically very good skilled. Yes Kurt wanted her for Nirvana, even the dude from Metallica said he can't believe someone with a p@ssy plays better drums than him...
I wish we had a wicked setlist like that in Minneapolis. It was still great & amazing, but we didn't get Dirty Girls, Nobody's Daughter, Thirteen, Northern Star, Honey... Only a few songs from the new album and a couple covers. She did "Unsatisfied" just for us in Minneapolis, some dudes standing next to me were whining about it. She confessed it was the "worst" cover of it, but I didn't really agree! It was passionate, and to me, passion is a must. Sorry, I'm talking about the First Avenue show on the Chicago page! When it comes out, I'll spill some details on the show. Casey, I'm jealous and happy for you! Lucky...
I saw Courtney last Tuesday on the 13th at the Pageant in St. Louis. And, although she was an hour and a half late, and even though it was quite a short set list. She came out two hours later at the back of the theatre, signed my CD, shook my hand, talked with me a little, and I even got a cigarette from the show with her lipstick still on it, which I now have framed. I am SO glad she's back.
I saw her in California in June, she does look and sound amazing, however I really don't like her new band line up at all. What she had in the 90's played allot better than this.
